Club Clé France: Health Insurance
We have been working with Allianz Insurance since 1999 and more recently with the excellent Franck Haloche, who along with his team offer a friendly, professional service and they also speak very good English!
We are seeing a steady increase in the number of people moving to France for their retirement or simply on a full time basis, there are still a lot of 'holiday homes' being bought but a higher percentage of sales are to people looking to move to France on a more permanent basis.
Research shows that France has one of the best healthcare systems for expats and especially retired expats.
France has always been renowned for the quality of its healthcare and is at the forefront of pioneering research, it has fantastic hospitals and boasts a high life expectancy rate.
We advise that expats choosing to live in France permanently should join the national health insurance system but it is also good advice to seek out 'top-up' insurance.
When looking for a quotation from a French insurance company, in English, that is suited to your specific health insurance needs? or just looking for advice / information about the health insurance system in France? then...

1) How to apply for a French National number (Securite Sociale number):
If you live permanently in France, it would be advisable to apply for a French National number; the process to do so may be different, depending on whether you are retired, unemployed, self-employed or working.
2) Why would it be advisable to take out a Top Up insurance?
As the obligatory (CPAM) health insurance cover is not full cover, it is advisable to take out "Top-Up" insurance to cover what would otherwise be the patient's contribution. Additional cover through our medical Top-Up insurance operates immediately.
We can propose several forms of Top-Up insurance:
Full Cover, Standard cover for your main medical expenses, Cover limited to the most important and expensive medical risks.
Contact us and let us know your specific needs so that we can provide you with a detailed quotation suited to your family's specific requirements.
